Large, interdisciplinary full-text database contains over 8,500 full-text publications, including academic journals, magazines, books, and trade publications. Offers broad subject coverage for a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, area studies, biology, chemistry, ethnic and multicultural studies, food science and technology, general science, geography, law, mathematics, music, pharmaceutical sciences, physics, psychology, religion and theology, women's studies, and many other fields. Partially funded by the the New Jersey State Library.
A collection of over 360 high-quality journals published by Cambridge University Press. The collection is especially strong in the following subject areas: Mathematics, History, Law, Politics and International Relations, Language and Linguistics, Area Studies, Ecology and Conservation, Music, Psychology and Psychiatry, Biology and Biomedical Sciences, Classics, Computer Science, Earth and Atmospheric Science, Economics, Medicine, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Social Studies. The Chronicle of Higher Education is a major news publication covering the college and university sector. The online edition of the Chronicle is published every weekday and features news, advice, and jobs for people in academe. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest print format issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; discussion forums; and career-building tools. Free personal accounts are available to members of the WPUNJ community in addition to the campus-wide subscription access. [1989 - Present]
Large database of full-text electronic books ("e-books"), including over 4,100 titles covering a wide variety of subjects and available for online reading.
Full-text access to over 110,000 electronic books from a wide variety of academic publishers, covering every subject.
Index to articles on topics in educational administration from over 150 periodicals, with links to full-text content where available. [1993 - present]
The ERIC database, sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences of the U.S. Department of Education, provides access to more than 1.3 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related materials. Included in the database are citation records, abstracts, and (where available) full-text links for journal articles, books, research syntheses, conference papers, technical reports, policy papers, and other education-related materials. Archive of over 1,900 major journals in the humanities, social sciences, business, education, area studies, mathematics and statistics, and much more. Funding for the acquisition of the JSTOR Arts and Sciences V, VI, VIII, and IX Collections was provided by a generous gift from the Student Government Association. [18th Century - Present]
Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts indexes the international literature in linguistics and related disciplines in the language sciences. The database covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. The database provides abstracts and - where available - links to the full-text of journal articles, plus citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,500 publications, and it also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, and dissertations. Full-text database containing content from over 140 popular, middle school magazines. All full text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexiles). Full text is also available for thousands of biographies and historical essays. The database also features primary source documents in American history, material from popular middle school reference resources, and an image collection of over 290,000 photos, maps and flags.
NJVID provides access to hundreds of educational streaming video titles that can be viewed online, by members of the William Paterson University community (faculty, staff and students). Videos are available from multiple vendors, and include the entire Intelecom collection of video clips from a variety of disciplines (Sociology, Psychology, Health, etc.). Use your WPUNJ username and password to access these videos.
Providing subject access for thousands of fiction and non-fiction titles aimed at the K-8 population, NoveList K-8 Plus also offers full-text reviews for many titles from sources like School Library Journal and Booklist. The database also provides access to teacher resources for promoting reading, including bibliographies and articles on teaching with fiction, scripts of book talks, and tips on using picture books as a springboard to interesting and educational activities.

Full-text database designed to provide multiple sides of a variety of current issues. The database currently offers materials on 200 topics, and each topic section features an overview along with point and counterpoint essays drawn from a variety of sources, plus supplementary information including primary source documents and guides to critical thinking.
Full-text database designed specifically for elementary schools contains content from over 60 popular elementary school magazines, plus materials from standard elementary school reference sources and an image collection featuring over 290,000 photos, maps and flags.
ProQuest Central is a large multidisciplinary database indexing over 14,000 publications, the majority of them available in full text. Over 160 subjects areas are covered extensively in this product including business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, technology, social sciences, and more. The publications include over 6,500 scholarly journals, over 3,600 trade publications, over 2,000 magazines and newspapers, and over 800 industry reports, plus dissertations and theses, company annual reports, and videos.
ProQuest Digital Microfilm offers high-quality, cover-to-cover page images from Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, including all graphics, advertisements and other features from the print editions. Although the database does not support searching of any kind, it can be used in conjunction with other databases that index Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal so you can obtain the citation information needed to view a specific page image. Our subscription to ProQuest Digital Microfilm currently provides the backfiles of Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal to January 2008. [2008 - 3 Months Ago]
This full-text database includes nearly 3 million dissertation and theses citations from around the world from 1861 to the present day together with over 1 million full-text dissertations that are available for download in PDF format. [1861 - Present]
Indexing for over 820 periodical titles in education, including over 630 scholarly journals, 120 trade publications, and over 50 magazines. Citations and abstracts are available back to 1971 for several titles, and full-text access is available for over 650 titles, with current full-text content provided for over 460 of these. ProQuest Education Journals covers not only the literature on primary, secondary, and higher education but also special education, home schooling, adult education, and hundreds of related topics. ProQuest Newsstand offers full-text news from over 1,280 sources, including domestic and foreign newspapers, wire services, magazines, trade publications, and blogs. Over 50 of the highest-circulation newspapers in the United States are included in the database, including such key titles as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Jose Mercury News, the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Houston Chronicle, the Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News, the Denver Post, and many others.
PsycARTICLES offers complete access to the full text of more than 80 landmark journals in behavioral science and related fields ranging from education, to nursing, to business, to neuroscience. The database currently contains over 160,000 articles from many of the most important journals in psychology, including 34 journals published by the American Psychological Association. Most titles feature complete content from the current issue back to volume 1, issue 1, with complete coverage of all subject areas relevant to psychological science including basic/experimental psychology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, education and school psychology, health psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, social psychology and social processes. Articles in PsycARTICLES are also accessible through links in the (larger) PsycINFO database. [1894 - present]
PsycINFO is the principal abstracting and indexing database covering peer-reviewed literature in the behavioral sciences and mental health. The database currently contains over 3.3 million records for articles from over 2,500 journals, books, and dissertations. Although the major focus of the database is psychology, it also includes information about the psychological aspects of related fields such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, technology, linguistics, anthropology, business, law, and others. The records in PsycINFO are organized by a rigorous and detailed system of subject classification to support high-precision searching, and links to full-text content are provided where available. PsycTESTS is a research database from the American Psychological Association that provides access to psychological tests, measures, scales, surveys, and other assessments as well as descriptive information about the test and its development and administration. The database currently includes over 20,000 records and over 15,000 instances of actual tests or test items. [1910 - Present]
Access to citations from over 3 million articles from approximately 375 leading magazines spanning the period from 1890 to 1982. Includes articles from the most widely read popular periodicals of the day, journals of news and opinion, and a selection of research publications. [1890 - 1982]

Scopus is a comprehensive database providing access to the research literature of the natural and physical sciences and the social sciences. The database currently provides over 50 million citation records and indexes over 20,000 peer-reviewed journals, over 390 trade publications, and over 370 book series. Also included are citations for over 5.5 million conference papers from proceedings and journals, over 25 million patent records from five patent offices, and articles in press from over 3,800 journals. Something About the Author is a biographical reference database providing illustrated biographical profiles of children's authors and artists. Our online access to the series, which begins with Volume 200 (2009), currently covers more than 750 individuals, ranging from established award winners to authors and illustrators who are just beginning their careers. Entries typically cover: personal life, career, writings, works in progress, adaptations, and additional sources. Approximately 750 additional authors are added to the database each year. Citations and abstracts from over 270 teacher and administrator trade journals, magazines and books.
The product of a collaboration between the Cheng Library and the University's Graduate programs, a collection of over 230 digitized master's theses is now available online through the ProQuest search interface. The majority of titles in the collection are from recent Communication Disorders and Music program graduates, but in 2010 the program is expanding to include other programs and the collection will grow as new theses are submitted for digitization.
