Large, interdisciplinary full-text database contains over 8,500 full-text publications, including academic journals, magazines, books, and trade publications. Offers broad subject coverage for a variety of disciplines, including anthropology, area studies, biology, chemistry, ethnic and multicultural studies, food science and technology, general science, geography, law, mathematics, music, pharmaceutical sciences, physics, psychology, religion and theology, women's studies, and many other fields. Partially funded by the the New Jersey State Library.
Bibliographic database contains over 450,000 citations and abstracts for journal and magazine articles, book and media reviews, and dissertations covering the world's scholarly literature about the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. Includes material from over 1,820 journals and magazines written in over 40 languages, although the majority of items were published in English. Most of the items in the database were issued after 1954. Many records contain links to full-text articles in other Library databases. [1954 - present]
The Art Abstracts database provides high-quality indexing of over 600 periodicals covering all topics in art from 1984 to the present, including 280 peer-reviewed journals, as well as indexing and abstracting of over 13,000 art dissertations, and indexing of almost 200,000 art reproductions. Art Abstracts indexes publications from several countries covering fine, decorative and commercial art as well as photography, folk art, film, architecture, and much more. [1984 - present]

The Chronicle of Higher Education is a major news publication covering the college and university sector. The online edition of the Chronicle is published every weekday and features news, advice, and jobs for people in academe. The Chronicle's Web site features the complete contents of the latest print format issue; daily news and advice columns; thousands of current job listings; an archive of previously published content; discussion forums; and career-building tools. Free personal accounts are available to members of the WPUNJ community in addition to the campus-wide subscription access. [1989 - Present]

The International Index to Music Periodicals (IIMP) provides access to articles from over 400 scholarly and popular periodicals in the areas of classical music, opera, jazz, popular music and pop culture, music education, musicology, music theory, and many others. There is particularly strong coverage of performance, music education, and jazz. The database currently contains over 600,000 records, offering both current and retrospective coverage, with over 235,000 records from 1874 to 1996. [1874 - Present]
Archive of over 1,900 major journals in the humanities, social sciences, business, education, area studies, mathematics and statistics, and much more. Funding for the acquisition of the JSTOR Arts and Sciences V, VI, VIII, and IX Collections was provided by a generous gift from the Student Government Association. [18th Century - Present]
Linguistics and Language Behavior Abstracts indexes the international literature in linguistics and related disciplines in the language sciences. The database covers all aspects of the study of language including phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. The database provides abstracts and - where available - links to the full-text of journal articles, plus citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,500 publications, and it also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, and dissertations. Full-text literary reference database contains over 27,000 plot summaries, synopses and work overviews; nearly 100,000 articles/essays of literary criticism; over 140,000 author biographies; over 569,000 book reviews; the text of 57,000 classic/contemporary poems and 14,500 classic/contemporary short stories; 4,700 author interviews; and over 7,100 classic literary texts. The database also contains full-text reference content from a number of literature encyclopedias.

The MLA International Bibliography is a bibliographic database to journal articles, books, and dissertations relating to all forms of human communication. Coverage includes literature from all over the world - Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North and South America. Folklore is represented by folk literature, music, art, rituals, and belief systems. Linguistics and language materials range from history and theory of linguistics, comparative linguistics, semantics, stylistics, and syntax to translation. Other topics include literary theory and criticism, dramatic arts (film, radio, television, theater), and history of printing and publishing. The database currently contains over 2 million records back to 1926 and covers over 4,400 journals. Links to full-text articles are provided in the database where these are available. NJVID provides access to hundreds of educational streaming video titles that can be viewed online, by members of the William Paterson University community (faculty, staff and students). Videos are available from multiple vendors, and include the entire Intelecom collection of video clips from a variety of disciplines (Sociology, Psychology, Health, etc.). Use your WPUNJ username and password to access these videos.
Comprehensive bibliography of scholarly research in philosophy contains more than 450,000 records drawn from over 680 journals, originating from more than 50 countries. The literature coverage dates back to 1940 and includes print and electronic journals, books, anthologies, contributions to anthologies, and book reviews. The Philosopher's Index covers scholarly research in all major areas of philosophy. [1940 - Present]
ProQuest Central is a large multidisciplinary database indexing over 14,000 publications, the majority of them available in full text. Over 160 subjects areas are covered extensively in this product including business and economics, health and medical, news and world affairs, technology, social sciences, and more. The publications include over 6,500 scholarly journals, over 3,600 trade publications, over 2,000 magazines and newspapers, and over 800 industry reports, plus dissertations and theses, company annual reports, and videos.
ProQuest Digital Microfilm offers high-quality, cover-to-cover page images from Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, including all graphics, advertisements and other features from the print editions. Although the database does not support searching of any kind, it can be used in conjunction with other databases that index Barron's, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal so you can obtain the citation information needed to view a specific page image. Produced by Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale, this comprehensive music bibliography features citations, abstracts and subject indexing to the literature of music. Coverage spans 1967 to the present, and the database is updated monthly. RILM covers articles in over 11,000 journals, many of which are not specifically devoted to music. RILM includes over 700,000 records, and over 40,000 new records are added every year. Citations in RILM represent publications in 214 languages, originating in 155 countries. Titles of works are translated into English, and the majority of records have English abstracts. Increasingly, records also feature abstracts in the original language of publication. [1967 - present]
The Salem History portal provides full-text access to several major series published by Salem Press, inclduing Decades in America (1920s-1990s), Great Lives from History, and Milestone Documents.
The product of a collaboration between the Cheng Library and the University's Graduate programs, a collection of over 230 digitized master's theses is now available online through the ProQuest search interface. The majority of titles in the collection are from recent Communication Disorders and Music program graduates, but in 2010 the program is expanding to include other programs and the collection will grow as new theses are submitted for digitization.
